José Carlos Vaz and Fernanda Campagnucci, members of the Scope research project, will be presenting their latest paper at the XII International Conference on Government, Administration, and Public Policy (GIGAPP). The event will take place in Madrid on September 23.
José Carlos Vaz, professor at the University of São Paulo and the Chair of the Brazil Chair at the University of Münster, alongside Fernanda Campagnucci, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Münster, will share their insights in the working panel titled “Evolving Roles of Local Government in the Present-Day Context.”
Their paper, “Data-driven emerging technologies for online participation in cities: a comparative view towards an analytical model” is part of the ongoing research under the Scope project, which focuses on state capacity in smart cities for online participation.
The panel will feature other distinguished researchers, including:
- José Hernández Bonivento from the Universidad Austral de Chile, presenting “Defining Success (and failure) in Local Open Government Initiatives: A Look into OGP Local.”
- Matilde Biagioni from the Universidad degli Studi de Perusa, discussing “An Overview of Emerging Technologies in Public Sector Crisis Management: A Systematic Literature Review.”
- Carmen Navarro, Moneyba González, and Luis Augusto Vera from the University Autónoma Madrid, presenting “Institutional Capacity and Local Governments in Spain: The Case of Municipal Implementation of European Funds.”
This panel aims to delve into the dynamic roles local governments play in today’s world, showcasing innovative approaches and models that promote effective online participation and enhance institutional capacity.
